Low-latency Cloud-based Volumetric Video Streaming Using Head Motion Prediction

Volumetric video is an emerging key technology for immersive representation of 3D spaces and objects. Rendering volumetric video requires lots of computational power which is challenging especially for mobile devices. To mitigate this, we developed a streaming system that renders a 2D view from the volumetric video at a cloud server and streams a 2D video stream to the client. However, such network-based processing increases the motion-to-photon (M2P) latency due to the additional network and processing delays. In order to compensate the added latency, prediction of the future user pose is necessary. We developed a head motion prediction model and investigated its potential to reduce the M2P latency for different look-ahead times. Our results show that the presented model reduces the rendering errors caused by the M2P latency compared to a baseline system in which no prediction is performed.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure

This thesis studies the internet in the context of political economy. For this, it covers the subjects of digital divide, digital inequality, concentration and content of the internet. The main goal of the thesis is to reveal the market structure of the internet today, its relation with the content and user preferences in Turkey. In order to achieve this, we define the political economy of the internet and focus on two components of it, the ownership structure of the internet and the content. In contrast to the common idea, the internet is not only a virtual universe. It's existence is based upon a great physical infrastructure, and its content today represents an enormous economical field. In this respect, this thesis studies both spheres of the internet segmented into their main categories and throughout this study, we aim to develop an extensive analysis of the internet, inequality on the internet, focusing on national and global digital inequality. According to this, our study endeavors how the internet globally not only reproduces inequalities of access and usage to the internet, but also imbalance between the oppressed classes, social groups, developed and undeveloped countries and carries a largely monopolistic structure today. Consequently, this thesis tries to explain how the internet market is structured in Turkey and its dependency relations with foreign capital. In this regard, we illustrate the strong correlation between concentration and increasing mainstream and commercial content on the internet in Turkey and arrive at conclusions and suggestions for rethinking the possibilities of a democratic internet.M.S. - Master of Scienc

How to Cite This Article: Yıldırım S. Inan AR, Gül LH, Türk Börü Ü. An Acute Motor Axonal Neuropathy (AMAN) Case With Motor Conductıon Blocks In Childhood. Iran J Child Neurol. Winter 2016; 10(1):65-69.AbstractObjectivecharacterized with decreased compound muscle action potentials (CMAP) and absence of demyelinating findings in electrophysiological studies, is a subtype of Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). A 4 yr-old male patient presented with ascending weakness, dysarthria and dysphagia to İstanbul Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital Neurology outpatient for three days to in 2012. Dysphonia, restricted eye movements, flaccid tetraplegia and areflexia were found in neurological examination. There were motor conduction blocks in all peripheral nerves in electrophysiological studies.According to these findings the patient was diagnosed as Acute Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy (AIDP). Reduction of CMAP amplitudes in posterior tibial nerve, absence of CMAPs in median, ulnar and peroneal nerves and loss of motor conduction blocks were found in following electrophysiological studies. According to these findings, patient was diagnosed as AMAN. Motor conduction blocks may appear in early stage of AMAN and they disappear in later examinations. That’s why electrophysiological studies must be repeated in patients with GBS

Amaç: Bu çalışmada; lomber disk cerrahisinde i.v. morfin ile yapılan hasta kontrollü analjeziye eklenen iv parasetamolün, postoperatif morfin tüketimi üzerine etkisinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of iv paracetamol with iv morphine PCA on postoperative morphine consumption in lumbar disc surgery. Materials and Methods: After obtaining the approval of the hospital ethics committee and patient’s consents, 67 adult patients, in ASA group’s I-III, were randomly divided into two groups. Group M (n=37) received iv morphine Patient Control Analgesia (PCA) postoperatively (bolus dose 1 mg, lock out time 10 min, limited 50 mg 24 hrs-1). At the skin closure, iv paracetamol (1 g infused in 15 min, 8 g 48 hrs-1) was also administered with morphine PCA in Group MP. All the patients with Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores over 3 were administered iv morphine in fractioned doses at recovery room (0. minute). The systolic and diastolic arterial pressures, hearth rate, SpO2, breathing rate, PCA demand number, replied demand number and total morphine consumption, sedation scores, VAS scores, presence of nausea and vomiting, itching and patches were recorded at 0., 30., 60. min, 2., 4., 6., 12., 18., 24. and 48. hrs. Fractioned morphine amounts and antiemetic consumption were also recorded. Fractioned morphine amounts, total morphine consumption and sedation scores were found to be lowered in Group MP (p<0.05). The difference between the total morphine consumption amounts of the study groups (76.4±6.7 mg in Group M and 42.5± 5.2 mg in Group MP) were significant (p<0.05). In addition, the VAS scores of Group M were found to be higher in the first two hours (p<0.05). Conclusion: It is concluded that the combination of iv paracetamol and morphine PCA after spinal surgery enhances the quality of the postoperative analgesic effect of morphine PCA by lowering the morphine consumption amount
